Automated Alerts
Why is this an important enhancement and whom does it benefit?
This enhancement helps your employees to be more efficient by automating the reporting of key milestone events by email to the required parties.
What is the enhancement?
Email alerts are used to notify key employees of trigger type events. For example, notify the purchasing manager that a critical inventory items has reached the minimum reorder point, notify accounting of all overdue invoices, and many other types of email alerts that are provided as default templates to be used as needed. Additionally the design of the email alerts using SQL statement allows the ability for the user to add additional alerts that are unique to their situation.
Note: SQL query statements do require Advantage Databases Server.
Alerts are located in the ASI Fax/Email/Alert server (formerly ASI Fax/Email Server). To setup alerts for your company, select the button, Add/Edit Alert, from the ASI Fax/E-mail/Alert Server window. Highlight a Template Alert and select the button, Create Alert from Template, or double click a Template Alert.
The Company Alert Email window is opened. Input the necessary email information. Click the button properties to change the frequency or comparison value for DISK or DBF alerts.
SQL alerts are available when Advantage is being used. Build your own SQL alert template allows the power user to create your own Alerts. The SQL Alerts query can be modified for your company’s specific needs.
The ASI Fax/Email/Alert window’s Options allow you to select the functions that will be performed through the server. This allows your Company the ability to setup different workstations to handle Faxing, Emailing (excluding E-mail Alerts) and the Creation/Emailing of Alerts.
