Update Issue - Advantage version incorrect. You must be on Advantage version 7.1 or higher
Issue: During the update process (normally Phase1) you get a message saying “Advantage version incorrect. You must be on Advantage version 7.1 or higher”
Notes: During the upgrade process, if the software is enabled for Advantage, the update will attempt to check the version of Advantage running on the server.
Resolution: There are several things that can cause this to happen.
· Verify the version of Advantage installed If you have Advantage version 6.x installed, you will need to upgrade the Advantage version.
· Verify the version of Advantage installed. If you have Advantage version 10.x installed, Advantage will need to be disabled for the update only. THIS IS ONLY FOR PROFITMAKER UPDATES 9.2x OR BEFORE. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN ON PROFITMAKER VERSION 9.3x UPDATE. To do this, modify the ASIADV.TXT file in each data directory, and change the line ADVANTAGE=Yes to ADVANTAGE=No. Once the update is complete (Phase1 and Phase2 on all machines), change this value back.
Verify the version of Advantage installed. If you have Advantage version 7.1x, 8.1x or 9.x installed, manually verify on the server the version of Advantage running by using the Advantage Database Configuration Utility. If a supported version is installed, you may have a firewall blocking the ProfitMaker update from issuing the query to the Advantage to detect version. The Firewall may need to be disabled for the update process and re-enabled after the update is complete
